The Laboratory of Medical and Industrial Biotechnology (LaBMI) is dedicated to applied research to industrial and medical solutions by means of biotechnological and microbiological methodologies. LaBMI is particular devoted to molecular virology using animal and cell models for the applications of oncolytic viruses, bacteriophages, and molecular diagnostics of diseases.

The research focus in on mechanisms of chronic disease: metabolic, oncological and infectious diseases. LaBMI also provides different services in addition to research, such as teaching, scientific events, tailored training, biological analysis, etc.
